- I'm back! It's been quite a while since I've been on LJ. How's everyone doing?

- I'm hoping to finish at least 5 books (books that are not just chick-flick romance books =P) this summer. I realize that I only read one book outside required class reading this school year. Read tons of fanfiction though =P

- thoughts on the Grey's Anatomy Finale )

- Thought on the NCIS finale )

- My recent obsession with Pride and Prejudice have not worn off. I'm sad that my computer won't let me take screencaps of my DVD. Hence will need to find 1995 P&P screencaps for my upcoming picspam.

Going on a semi-hiatus until June 11th. Last week of instruction is this week and finals are next week, and in between I have to pack out of my dorm. So trying to concentrate on studying (which means getting distracted by fanfiction...)

So sorry if I'm really bad at commenting lately.

- I haven't seen the House Finale yet. Will need to catch up on half of the season first.

- Bones season finale and overall season stuff )

- I need to catch up on this season's NCIS. And Grey's. Although I saw the Izzie/Alex thing and cried (and it reminded me A Walk To Remember, which despite for all its melodrama, brought me close to tears with its ending)

- I also watched "Becoming Jane" with a friend in the dorms. I have to say, how did people my age (late teens, early 20s) get from the elegant ballroom dancing to the type I saw at my prom?

- Also in relevance to above post: I need to make a post sometime later about P&P, which I've been my latest obsession lately (aka reading an abnormal amount of P&P fanfiction)

- Personal note: Davis Model United Nations Conference chairing was fun! And some of the high school students look so...small. I don't know if it's me being in college or something, but it amazes me how young they look.

In the next few months, I'm hoping to:

- Picspam on the 2005 and the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice. (because writing writeups on the book's far more intellectually exhausting)
- Thoughts on Bones S4
- Thoughts on House S5 (once I catch up)
- Thoughts on Grey's S6
- Mei-chan no Shitsuji write-up/weird thoughts/wandering
- Odd thoughts about how Hana Yori Dango is kinda based from Pride and Prejudice and figuring out weird correlations (a lot of silliness on my part mostly)
- Music reviews

Good thing the train home takes 1.5 hours. =D

First thing: I adore the picture in my icon aka the second season cover of Buffy. I even have a poster of it in my room.

Also I plan to watch Red Cliff sometime soon. But the music videos and the theme songs for part I and part II. AMAZING.

There's a Japanese version for it too.

In Season 4 of Buffy, was there ever a conversation about the gray area around the policy of Student/TA dating in University of California?

I know, weird and small issue for me to haggle on, and I'm blaming the fact that I want to flaunt my UC Student Skillz (and I might have watched the season with a big shipper hole in my heart) and I was going to write something regarding Buffy's admission to UC Sunnydale but then I realize that I only have a blurred idea of how the UC admission works and that will need further research, and the UCs tend to be vague about their acceptance policy at best, so... )

I'm kind of amazed how in one episode Walsh apparently knew what Buffy's paper was about (and I think that was before they knew she was the slayer). Because in UC lower division intro classes, and Buffy's psychology class looks pretty darn big, it's normally the TA doing all the grading and stuff and the professor just lectures. Heck, even in the smaller, 50 people UC Berkeley class I attended during the summer, the paper-grading and the tests-gradings are still done by the TA. That was one of the warnings about going to a UC-scaled university, in that the classrooms are huge and you won't know your professors that well personally until you go into the upper-division classes.

So, yeah, weird UC-related thing. And don't get me started on the size of Buffy's dorm room.

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

From [info]robas's pick.

This is the moment that I fell in love with Ten (and his converse!). He just looks so adorable in the Christmas hat that I just want to cuddle him. Also I really love colorings on the series, because it's amazingly easy for me to work with on photoshop even after the fact that I haven't used it for a while.

I love this icon so much, because for the longest time I couldn't work with this image coloring-wise on Photoshop so I was quite proud of myself to find a coloring that finally worked. Also this scene in BtVS is a bit frightening in the sense that it is the ultimate shipper's dream but at the same time it isn't a happy ending.

My favorite scene in Bad Girls (although Buffy probably shouldn't tease Angel like that...), and I love the normal adorableness in it. It originally started out as a colored version, but I wasn't completely satisfied and thought it looked better black and white.

This is Ayumi Hamasaki during her (Miss)Understood Era with the long dark hair, which despite the fact that I think she's one of the few Asians who with the right make up can actually pull off blonde hair well, dark hair looks best on her. The original image is this, and I just love the scenery. It also helped that the image was easy to work with for me.

UC Davis is where I'm at for my undergrad (and speaking of UCs, I have a few nitpicks with Joss about UC Sunnydale), and it's known to people as a "cow town". The animal (or Pokemon) on the cover is a cow pokemon name Miltank. My friend and I were playing the new Pokemon Pearl/Diamond in our dorms when we saw Miltank on the online Pokedex and thought that it could be the mascot for UC Davis (although UC Davis's mascot is a horse for reasons I do not understand).

- The Doctor is awesome! I was very sad when Nine left, but Ten is utterly adorable. He wears converse! And David Tennant is really hot, especially with glasses.

- I got tearied eyed during "School Reunion" when the robotic dog blew up (but he got fixed, which is good. Very good). I'm weak when it comes to dogs, robotic or not.

- Doctor/Rose <333333333 I teared up at the end of Doomsday (and for some weird, absurd reason, the end scene with Rose and the Doctor reminds me so much of the end scene of IWRY, even though it's in a completely different context)
