For airing Bones a day before the US so it's conveniently on Surfthechannel this morning.

The Harbringers in the Fountain...as usual, somewhat incoherent babbling and possibly some gushing )

So I'm slowly going through my goal of finishing the entire Jane Austen collection. And I just realize that I could actually read through it a lot faster than I thought.

So I read Persuasion. I have to say, it's weird, because for some reason whenever I read Pride & Prejudice, I often see Lizzy as someone that's mid-to-late twenties, at least translated to modern mentalities. So reading how Persuasion talks about Anne Elliot being past her bloom is kinda weird (and I remember there was a page where they talk about losing the youthful bloom and I was like..."you mean teenage era of easy breakouts?"). But then again, people do live shorter back then so...

(...and I realize that I'm making the book sound like a chick-lit. dammit!)

and I had this whole analysis on how I felt how this book was about both doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, and and wrong thing for the right reasons, but as I wrote it down it actually didn't make sense... -__-

(and for some odd reason I keep thinking of a Buffy/Angel parallel to Persuasion because I see my OTP in a lot of things which either means a) I think of sophisticated metas or b) I obsess too much about my ship)

Dear Law & Order: SVU,

It's technically not your fault, and for the most part, you're a good show. Although sometimes I wish there would be more courtroom stuff, but that's what the L&O mothership is for. And I also wish you stop messing with Elliot's marriage with Kathy, but that's another post.

Anyhow, it's kinda annoying how all of your ten seasons are released on DVD and available for streaming on netflix, and barely half of the entire 19 seasons of the mothership is doing the same. And also your name keeps popping up on search engines, when I want to get access to the mothership law&order.

Still love you though,
Jane

I've been reading a lot in Barnes and Noble (because I still don't know how to drive, and I think California/Bay Area/Local suburb city needs to revamp or actually install public transportation to reach the said Local Suburb city; I miss the Unitrans). And it's been a while since I actually picked up a book that's outside school, fanfiction, or the news.

Books I've read:

Alison Weir: The Lady Elizabeth
Meg Cabot: Boy Next Door series, Queen of Babble series, Size 12 Is Not Fat
Sophie Kinsella: Can You Keep a Secret?, Un-domestic Goddess

I actually read The Lady Elizabeth a while back, but I'm lumping it together with my other books. And I'm looking forward to the sequel, because it's clear that Alison Weir actually knows the history and manage to make some of the historical figures sympathetic without glossing over their actions. And adding bits of fiction that actually fits in with history. (that's the one of the many problems I had with the Other Boleyn Girl)

Meg Cabot and Sophie Kinsella books are pretty light readings.

I have also started (aka at page 2) on Dorian Grey and I'm a chapter in Persuasion. I'm saving those both for after next week when my Phil 2 final is over.

- I'm back! It's been quite a while since I've been on LJ. How's everyone doing?

- I'm hoping to finish at least 5 books (books that are not just chick-flick romance books =P) this summer. I realize that I only read one book outside required class reading this school year. Read tons of fanfiction though =P

- thoughts on the Grey's Anatomy Finale )

- Thought on the NCIS finale )

- My recent obsession with Pride and Prejudice have not worn off. I'm sad that my computer won't let me take screencaps of my DVD. Hence will need to find 1995 P&P screencaps for my upcoming picspam.

Going on a semi-hiatus until June 11th. Last week of instruction is this week and finals are next week, and in between I have to pack out of my dorm. So trying to concentrate on studying (which means getting distracted by fanfiction...)

So sorry if I'm really bad at commenting lately.

- I haven't seen the House Finale yet. Will need to catch up on half of the season first.

- Bones season finale and overall season stuff )

- I need to catch up on this season's NCIS. And Grey's. Although I saw the Izzie/Alex thing and cried (and it reminded me A Walk To Remember, which despite for all its melodrama, brought me close to tears with its ending)

- I also watched "Becoming Jane" with a friend in the dorms. I have to say, how did people my age (late teens, early 20s) get from the elegant ballroom dancing to the type I saw at my prom?

- Also in relevance to above post: I need to make a post sometime later about P&P, which I've been my latest obsession lately (aka reading an abnormal amount of P&P fanfiction)

- Personal note: Davis Model United Nations Conference chairing was fun! And some of the high school students look so...small. I don't know if it's me being in college or something, but it amazes me how young they look.

In the next few months, I'm hoping to:

- Picspam on the 2005 and the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice. (because writing writeups on the book's far more intellectually exhausting)
- Thoughts on Bones S4
- Thoughts on House S5 (once I catch up)
- Thoughts on Grey's S6
- Mei-chan no Shitsuji write-up/weird thoughts/wandering
- Odd thoughts about how Hana Yori Dango is kinda based from Pride and Prejudice and figuring out weird correlations (a lot of silliness on my part mostly)
- Music reviews

Good thing the train home takes 1.5 hours. =D

First thing: I adore the picture in my icon aka the second season cover of Buffy. I even have a poster of it in my room.

Also I plan to watch Red Cliff sometime soon. But the music videos and the theme songs for part I and part II. AMAZING.

There's a Japanese version for it too.
